Kenny and other Gardeners, this is for you
An Invitation to Join the Faculty at the Natural Garden Academy
Hello, my gardening friends. I am in the process of launching my new project, The Natural Garden Academy, where I will be bringing together the best voices in the natural gardening world, be it organic gardening, permaculture, xeriscaping, sustainable gardening and landscaping, wildlife gardening, vegetable growing, etc.
I have dreamed of this for a long time and I’m very excited that it is finally happening. My goal is to have a centralized location with courses on a variety of topics, by a variety of teachers, with a variety of approaches (think Lynda.com for gardeners). I like to think of it as win-win-win. You win by having people purchase your courses, people win because they can easily find the information that they need. And I win by making this dream come true.
Here’s the details:
• You can create a course on any topic you like that fits the definition of “natural gardening” I am inviting each of you because I know that I don’t have to explain what that is. If you are already doing workshops/lectures/presentations you already have material that can easily be adapted to an online course.
• The site will run on a Wordpress platform with member management software, affiliate tracking software and integration with PayPal
• You will set the price of your course
• You will be assigned an administrator role of your course and you’ll be able to answer any questions from students right in the comments of your course pages
• You maintain complete control and ownership of your materials
• I want you to be well rewarded for your efforts. The split will be 80/20 with the 80% going to you and the 20% to the management of the site. I am also going to develop an affiliate program of 20% so that bloggers and others who promote the site gain some benefit from doing that. So the least you would get from your courses would be 60% (60% to you, 20% to site management, 20% to affiliates)
• You will be able to use text, photos, audio, and video in the presentation of your courses. You get to decide what works best for you
• After the site gets going, I will be adding forum software so that we and course members have a safe place to chat away from the spammers. That piece is a little down the road but just wanted you to know what I’ve got planned
• The site is going to go live in the next couple of weeks
I welcome you to ask any other questions you may have. I’m also looking forward to seeing what you’ll come up with.
